|14:00 - 14:30||Pádraig O'Connor||Game Sparks||Pádraig is a Solutions Expert at GameSparks, the leading sever-side development tool for game, powering titles such as TellTale Games ‘7 Days to Die’, Square Enix’s ‘Lara Croft Relic Run’, and Bandai Namco’s ‘Pac-Man Pop’.
Pádraig is an alumni of LIT-Tipperary having graduated from it's Game Design and Development course, and helped in the organization of Games Fleadh during his time as a student and in his roles as TippSoc Vice President and PRO.
Pádraig will be delivering a talk about visualizing the role of the backend in the Game Design process, and improving the quality of your game's as a result
|14:30 - 15:00||James Corbett||SimVirtua||James (B.E. Computer Engineering, University of Limerick) has 21 years experience in the IT industry, including working for multinationals Apple, Motorola and Analog Devices, in roles from Software Test to Network System Administration.
He set up his first business in 2002, an online sports forum which traded internationally. He acted as technical adviser to Gaelscoil O’Doghair in, Co. Limerick where working alongside Principal Daithi O’Murchu led to the setting up of MissionV Education Ltd., a not-for-profit that introduced Irish schools to learning through Virtual Worlds - a pilot project supported by the Department of Education and Skills.
James is also Social Entrepreneurs Ireland awardee. In 2013 he co-founded Simvirtua Ltd., which creates Augmented & Virtual Reality software and experiences.
|15:00 - 15:30||Ingo Schumacher||Electronic Arts||Ingo has been working in the Gaming Industry for over 12 Years, all of the time in Quality Assurance, shipping over 30 titles to date.
Before re-joining EA in Galway in 2015, Ingo has worked for Companies like Microsoft Game Studios, Bioware, Jagex and Naturalmotion/Zynga in various different QA roles.
Aside from playing games, he loves Automation and Security as technical subjects and its application towards Games.
In his previous life Ingo was 12 years in the German Air Force as a Tac Sergeant.
|15:30 - 16:00||Stephen Howell||Microsoft Ireland||Stephen Howell is the Academic Program Manager for Microsoft Ireland.
In this role he engages lecturers and students of all disciplines and levels with tech talks and curriculum advice. Stephen is a passionate advocate of CoderDojo and Computational Thinking both in and outside the classroom.
He developed Kinect 2 Scratch and is a PhD candidate in SMARTLab, UCD on Computational Thinking education with kinaesthetic learning.
Before joining Microsoft he was a software engineer and Computing lecturer on software development education and games based learning.
|16:00 - 16:40||Jen Carey||Imirt||Jen Carey is a game maker and writer from Dublin. She's a member of the board of directors of Imirt: The Irish Game Makers Association and the bane of her life is trying to find snappy and cool things to put into bios.
She has worked in a variety of games companies, occasionally lectures and enjoys genuinely terrible puns.
Jen's new game Rampunctious is hitting Kickstarter in a few days and she does not guarantee that she won't subtly try to plug it at some point.
